Sixty years ago, Jim and IraDell Storm opened a small drive-in restaurant in Lampasas. Today, Storm's has become a Texas Hill Country icon.

Al Jennings of Oklahoma, largely through masterful self-promotion, became for a time the best-known of the outlaws of the American West. He was a genuine bandit, he did go to a Federal penitentiary for attempted murder on a life sentence which was commuted to five years in 1900. He was pardoned by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1902.

Here, Horace and Myrtle Oestreich, of Inman's Kitchen in Llano, accept a plaque from Bob Cole and Bucky Godbolt of KVET in Austin after they won a listeners' poll as the "Best BBQ Joint in Central Texas" last spring.
